From an Idea to a 3D Preview

Floyd Dept. editorial illustration: From an Idea to a 3D Preview

A doodle, a photograph or a few words can be the beginning of a design. The Floyd Dept. 3D Design Lab gives you a place to explore that idea before deciding what comes next.

Choose your starting point

Use an image you created or have permission to use. A clear file with a simple focal point is easier to position and evaluate than a crowded composition.

Give the graphic some space

Upload your artwork and experiment with placement and scale. Compare a small chest detail with a larger central graphic. Step back and consider how the image sits within the shape of the tee.

Look from more than one angle

Rotate the 3D preview and check how your design looks from the front, back and sides. Review the text, colors and alignment carefully. A screen preview is an aid to exploring an idea; it does not replace the final product specifications.

Keep trying until the balance feels right. The strongest design is often the one with a clear idea and enough space to let it speak.
